A Note from the Artist
Throughout my life, animals and art have been my main interests. At college I needed to make a choice and flipped back and forth between biology and art, but finally graduated with a BFA in painting from Florida State University.
My professional life really started when I married another artist, and we worked together on different sorts of projects, from museum exhibits to bronze sculpture, and theatrical scenic painting. In my spare time, I still liked to paint animals but had a hiccup when I became sensitive to solvents and had to walk away from oil paints, so it became a challenge to master acrylics.
I taught myself by copying old masters, working hard to use their techniques, but with new works. The animal component was honoring several pets. I loved these! I’m still learning from each artist that provides inspiration. So many masters! So little time!
